Traveling among different cities at an early age, Roman became fascinated by the fleeting moments of the beams that shine into the train. As a visually driven person, he has DEDICATED HIS CAREER to CAPTURING the EMOTION BEHIND the CAMERA.
He received systematic training at the BEIJING FILM ACADEMY. He then pursued a master's degree in CINEMATOGRAPHY at CHAPMAN UNIVERSITY, studying the arts and crafts of becoming a VISUAL STORYTELLER under the mentorship of Bill Dill, ASC, and Johnny E. Jensen, ASC.
Roman has worked as a freelance CINEMATOGRAPHER for NARRATIVES and COMMERCIALS. A firm believer of mutual COLLABORATION and WELL-POLISHED VISUAL CRAFT, Roman has earned his reputation in the industry. He has participated in eight FEATURE PROJECTS as a DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY. In 2017, he won the 'BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY' in LA BIENNALE DI VENEZIA.
As he navigates the next stage of his journey as a budding cinematographer with his unique "pen" - that PAINTS LIGHT and SHAPES SHADOW, Roman is passionate about exploring diverse approaches to bring out the story authentically through his lens.
Roman Jiang is currently based in SHANGHAI, and would LOVE to TRAVEL whenever the opportunity arises.
当光线穿透树林，洒进火车车厢，这是年少时他脑海里最深刻的画面。以视觉为主导的大江选择站在了摄影机背后，喜欢捕捉形形色色的人物与故事。为了精进技艺，他踏上了前往好莱坞求学旅程，在查普曼大学道奇电影学院师从两位美国ASC著名摄影教授。入行以来，大江在故事片，广告以及纪录片领域均有涉足。协作精神和不断精进技艺一直是他坚持的方向，这使他在行业中有了良好的口碑。曾参与拍摄的广告客户有： 华为，京东，美团，VIVO，珀莱雅等。时至今日，他作为摄影指导拍摄了8部长篇。2017年，大江在威尼斯双年展上荣获最佳摄影。目前大江居于上海。受海派文化浸染，他乐于尝试多样、有趣的创作内容。如果有好的机会， 他乐于去往各地拍摄。
